Kaiko Design: The Key to a Beautiful and Well-Designed Home

If you are confused about what an interior designer, versus an architect or interior stylist can offer you — you are not alone! The industry does not have clear cut definitions, and often what one professional offers versus another is vastly different.

So — what can Kaiko Design help you with? In general, Kaiko Design will give you a professional view on making spaces the most functional and beautiful they can be, to enhance your lifestyle and live how you want to live. Kaiko Design has access to a whole world of manufacturers and trades who supply exclusively to the industry. Ultimately this results in a superior, more unique result than doing it alone.

Below we capture the services that Kaiko Design can assist with.

General

If you just do not know where to begin in with your interiors, engaging Kaiko Design can help a lot. We can create an overall concept and strategy, including colour palettes and a look and feel guide. From there we can move through our stepped approach to the Design Process.

If you have already engaged an Architect or Landscape Designer we can work in collaboration with them to ensure a cohesive outcome.

Renovations

Kitchen design

Kaiko Design will deliver beautiful and functional kitchens that offers the best workflow for how you use your kitchen. Unlike many kitchen design companies, Kaiko Design is equipped to create something very bespoke, beautiful and creative, using our vast knowledge of finishes and materials, as well as joinery design. We also like to assist in appliance selection.

Bathroom and laundry design

Similar to kitchen design, Kaiko Design can help to create the ideal bathroom and laundry for you, to suit your lifestyle. We will find a spot for those requests – we love answering specific design problems. Its what makes your home unique to you.

Kaiko Design is experienced in spatial layout, and we’re aware of standards such as the minimum space required for a shower, or the standard height and depth for a vanity. Kaiko Design can also source fittings, again from a vast number of trade-only resources that even builders don’t get access to.

Joinery design

This is something we have talked about, at length here before but Kaiko Design can design bespoke pieces of furniture or cabinetry for you, including bookshelves, bedheads and bedside tables, or a built-in study desk area. This is in addition to those major joinery items like in the kitchen, bathroom, laundry or media room etc.

Space and furniture layouts

Kaiko Design can create spatial plans for a simple request like a new living room layout to more complex requests like adding or diving rooms to answer more specific design problems. Common requests we receive are to add a powder room or another bathroom, butlers pantries or a media snug.  We take accurate site dimensions and plan to scale. Depending on what stage of the design process you are at – these plans can be more graphic to represent furniture selections, upholstery rug and finishes, to pure architectural for wall set out, bathroom waste location, electrical layouts, or ceiling treatments.

Sourcing and selecting

Kaiko Design  can source and select the perfect finishes and materials for your renovation, such as tiles, natural stone, timber, veneers, paint colours and grout. We also provide planning and procurement of furniture.

Soft Furnishings

Furniture plans

Similar to the above, we can reconfigure your furniture layout, including determining the best scale and size of furniture to best suit each room. We consider flow through and to each room, and can also create a furniture plan for you to work in some of your existing furniture items, to create a new look and feel.

Window treatments

Kaiko Design can specify the best window treatments for your space, including selecting curtain fabrics, blinds, romans and panels. We have an opinion on almost everything so don’t be afraid to ask.

Fabric Selections

As much as we love to design and resolve joinery we also REALLY love fabric. Kaiko Design can select and source fabrics for custom furniture pieces, window treatments and cushions from the vast range of fabric suppliers available only to designers

Rugs

We can determine the best size and colours for rugs, and then source and select the best one for the space, in your price range. We also love to design one-of-a-kind pieces for you.

Styling and art

At Kaiko Design we love art and accessories! We have existing relationships with galleries here in Sydney that can assist in finding the perfect piece of art for you. Original art doesn’t have to be expensive.

Design Management

Kaiko Design can act as your advocate from start to finish in creating your home, and coordinate the process of design, renovation, furniture installation and styling. From helping to determine your overall plans and dreams, we design the spaces, engage the trades, services and suppliers required to execute those plans. We will then act on your behalf throughout the execution. This means having any tricky conversations with trades and builders, coordinating the renovation with our trade partners, coordinating furniture purchases and deliveries, then installing all the finishing touches. Your space is then finished and ready for you to enjoy, without worrying about anything!

If you’d like help on your renovation, we love taking care of every detail, and acting as an advocate on your behalf with builders and suppliers. Get in touch here or see how we can help you.
