Danks Street - Home & Studio

I have loved this complex since it was built in 2014 - an award winning collaboration from BKH & SJB, so when the opportunity arose to move from Sydney’s lower north shore to this standout building my partner and I jumped at it. The planning suits the way we live and like to entertain but it needed a refresh to speak more to my aesthetic. We moved here during the pandemic which meant setting up a home office - the existing layout is perfect for this with the private spaces located to the east and the kitchen, dining and living spaces interfacing with the large outdoor room to the west. Proximity to suppliers has also been a major bonus for my work life - just downstairs in the same complex is Winnings Appliances, Spence and Lyda, Robert Plumb, Dilorenzo Tiles and Studio Gallery - just across the street! Danks Street has always been a design hub and its wonderful to feel apart of it. With the addition of new lighting and adding contrast to the hard finishes of the kitchen the living and entertaining spaces feel completely transformed. My home & studio is a curation of things I have amassed overtime and from traveling as well as new pieces specifically for this home. It is a reflection of things I love as well as things I am trying out as an experiment. I think its important to always be evolving as a designer.
