Australia's Home Renovation Boom: Get Expert Help with Kaiko Design
The spending on renovations by property owners in Australia has reached a four-year high, according to new figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. In the year ending June 2020, the spending on renovations increased from the year previous by 15%. The increase in spending is mainly down to increases in construction of new homes and renovations of existing homes. The stellar result is likely partly due to the Home Builder scheme, but also to an increase in the number of people undertaking renovations during the lockdown. The ABS statistics show that spending on renovations by building owners has increased year-on-year from $3.86 billion in the year ending June 2018 to $4.24 billion for the year ending June 2019. This is a rise of 14.8%. It is also the second highest rate of increase since 2011, with only June 2013 showing stronger figures during that period, when spending increased by 17.2%.
What does all this mean though?
Well, there has never been a better time to renovate! The Home Builders scheme is locked in for another year, the number of people undertaking renovations is likely to grow and the value of your home could increase again soon.
