Five best Australian Lighting Designers we love right now...AND their Instagram's you should be following!
At Kaiko Design we love to champion Australian Design and Designers. Arguably we have some of the best industrial lighting designers in the world right here at home. So below I have picked out just a couple of my current favourites. You can also check out our own range of interior lighting - flush mount ceiling fixtures, wall sconces, pendants and floor lamps. Kaiko Design Interiors
The Greenway Crackle is a natural extension of the Greenway and Eon collections. The resulting design draws on Greenway’s system of lighting components referencing Australia’s historic maritime architecture and infuses it with prolific lighting designer, Richard Kelly’s three principles for lighting.
Exi, greek for the number 6, is a solid brass hexagonal bar with a recessed LED strip light. The structure of the six edge and six vertices allows this light to be streamline and intriguing. Each surface reflects the light differently creating shadow and highlights making the material the hero of the product.
Geometric and distinctive, the I-O-N O is available as a pendant and as a wall sconce. Originally, the I-O-N series was a simple play on geometric forms, there are three form variations in its immediate family. The sculptural form of this variation takes the viewers’ attention away from the nitty gritty of the electrical wire and its necessary componentry, lamp holder and bulb, and offers a classically proportioned, graphically sculptural lighting option which emits a subtle, warm and delicate light.

The Earth Light has been developed in both two wall sizes and a pendant format. The fitting can
be purposefully used in wall and pendant formats across domestic and commercial interior design. Its geometric form is both simple and architectural; every fitting is thrown on a potter’s wheel giving each light a unique quality and a surface rich with the evidence of its handmade process. After an initial firing, the fittings are hand finished with glazes developed specifically for our lighting collection and then fired one final time. The wall bracket and electrical componentry have been custom designed to complement the handmade nature of ceramics.
